Adventure to the North

On Sunday the 22nd of July straight after Jornada, Tiffany and I embarked on our trip to the north of Chile. We had to catch a bus to Bahia Inglesia on the coast about 12 hours away. We took an overnight bus and left at around 11pm. We arrived at 11am and met with our tour guides.

First impressions were that they were easy going and perhaps a little alternative. We were taken to the main plaza and for any groceries or grog. We both just wanted to go to bed and so found a spot in the sun and stayed there until we could go.
After a little time in the sun we were interrupted by some of the other members on the bus. We met with the Great Danes and the Old Poms. Everyone seemed lovely.

We arrived at our accommodation right on the beach and we found out we were sharing with the Great Danes.

Our cabins were quite nice. Tiffany and I just climbed into bed and fell asleep after a deep weekend and a long bus ride.

I didn't sleep incredibly well, not because of the bed but because the whole tour group for some reason thought it was a good idea to talk and drink right outside our cabin, lovely.

We arose around 4 or so and decided to take a walk on the beach and check out the village nearby.

The weather wasn't too bad, it was pretty windy though but the scenery made up for it. The surprising thing is how unpopulated the beach was. It is a really pretty spot but there is very few people that live there and there are not many hotels or anything, reasonably untouched.

After our walk on the beach we headed back for a BBQ with the tour gang. We pulled up a chair next to everyone and were talking for a whole 10 minutes when i suddenly saw a beer bottle slip out of one of the guys (Painful Brit 2) hands and spill right into my lap. Well he went into a sorry frenzy and i just headed for the room to change pants. Upon my return he took my pants to wash them and swore they would be dry by morning, I got to wear them on the last day when they finally dried. After all that drama it began to get really cold as the sun set and so Tiffany and I headed inside for a game of cards before dinner. Everyone was a little surprised that neither of us accepted a beer and were inside playing cards.

We then decided to be social and joined them for dinner. Dinner was huge and very yummy!
After dinner i took a very hot shower, which was located a little way from the cabin in the open air so it was a little crisp to get out.

I then headed back to bed as i was still buggered from the weekend. As i tucked into bed i hoped that the Great Danes that we were sharing with didn't snore....

HOW VERY WRONG I WAS

Only one of them snored but that made up for the entire tour group! It wasn't even a snore it was more like she was choking and dying. I laid awake waiting for her to just drop off so i could get some sleep but it didn't happen.

Both Tiffany and I rose in the morning looking worse than we did when we arrived. A funny start our trip!
